All we wanted for our 5th birthday was to spread happiness all around, so we had set an open call for non-profit organisations. We wanted to create an app that would support selected non-profit organisation on a long-term basis. And the winning project was Muzzle Bear from a Centre for Children with Hearing Impairment Tamtam.
There are many agencies out there that offer development for mobile applications, but how do you choose the right one? The development of an app tailored to specific needs is not a commodity with clean parameters that can be acquired as easily as office supplies.
We have succeeded in the Ethereum Foundation grant competition and now we are looking forward to an interesting work for crypto world. The Ethereum Foundation founded by the one and only Vitalik Buretin, the creator of the Ethereum cryptocurrency, supports the development of Ethereum. Ethereum is currently the second most valuable cryptocurrency after Bitcoin, and soon we will be developing an universal tool to serve all iOS mobile applications.
My summer at Ackee was all about a mobile application for one of the biggest logistics company. In a nutshell: a big company, large stores, storekeepers, trucks, drivers, pallets and all the rest that comes to your minds when thinking of transport. Not excluding the massive amount of administration, of course. Drivers obviously love the administrative work, because after driving, loading the goods, sending messages with codes, waiting in traffic jams, finding a parking space in the center of Prague (which also includes fighting over it with another driver) and finally unloading the truck, there is nothing more enjoyable than using the remaining time to do the paperwork. If this sounds like a sarcasm to you, you are right. A truck driver’s job is very hard and stressful, even without the paperwork and the duty of putting all the details down one by one.
During November, our Team, consisting of David, Dominik and Jirka, participated in the CEE Hacks – Smart energy Hackathon. “Don’t you have enough programming to do from your regular work?” you may ask. (more…)
We have completed many projects at Ackee, but developing an app for a bank was a first. It was both a challenge and a great experience. Here we ask our project manager Ladislav Moravec how working with the banking sector differed from our other projects, what we had to focus on to succeed, and how it eventually all unravelled: (more…)
Every June, Ackee is celebrating its birthday. This year’s was fifth and so we wanted to make it special and decided to give a present to somebody who needs it more than we do. We have chosen the Center for Deaf Kids Tamtam and we will create an app for a million crown for them.
Clients often ask us about the cost of developing a new app. This question is not a simple one to answer, as it depends on several factors which we will discuss in this piece. The goal of this article is to clear-up why we cannot accurately determine the total cost of a project at its commencement.
Ackee will celebrate its 5th birthday this summer and so it feels like the right time to commit some good. Here is a videocontest for non-profit companies where one of them will be given a million-crowns-costing app for their project or an equally expensive brand new website.
We briefly mentioned the new mobile application Pokin, which won the 16th AppParade on our blog a month ago. Now the time has come to look at it in more detail. The attractive exterior hides a relatively sophisticated technology, which we developed in Ackee from scratch and thus became pioneers in this area of its kind.
